Atomic Age Alliance Fund-Raiser Thursday Evening

From our pal and fellow preservationist, Mary Margaret Stratton:

Hello Everyone,

This is just a reminder that tomorrow is our DWR fundraiser. If you are
unable to attend the event, your donations to our advocacy fund are very
much appreciated. The suggested donation $100 per person or $150 per
couple
No one will be turned away due to financial hardship, so please come if
you are interested and donate what you can. If you can make it, please
bring a checkbook, as we will be unable to process credit card donations
on site. Credit card donations may be made through PayPal. The "send to"
address is paypal@atomicage.org

Thank you to everyone who is helping to make this event possible,
including, but not limited to Craig Lavalley Design Within Reach, the
Thurston Howlies, and Hint Flavored Waters.

Sincerely,
Mary-Margaret Stratton

47-Story High-Rise on Sahara turned down

The crew at VeryVintageVegas.com is reporting that the Planning Commission turned down a proposal by a developer to turn the corner of 6th and Sahara into a mixed-use 47-story highrise tower.

Read more about it and how you can help:

Kudos to Jack LeVine and all those who came out in support of the neighborhood last night.  Kudos also to Steve Evans, of the Planning Commission, for realizing that mixed-use high-rise towers are not good ideas for every neighborhood.

More Huntridge Theater news

Josh Geidel of  Save the Huntridge and owner Eli Mizrachi will be on Jeff Gillan's Las Vegas One broadcast this evening at 9:00 pm.

They will be talking about the efforts to safe the historic property and alternative uses for the building.

We encourage everyone that is interested in helping to preserve this building to tune in this evening.
